The Brazilian football team defeated Mexico 2-0 in the round-of-16 match.
Brazil were seen as favorite to win the World Cup even before the completion started and with the exit of the big names, the fans are very much optimistic that they will win the title.
The match ended 0-0 at the end of the first half with both sides missing decent scoring chances.
Neymar was the player who broke the deadlock after the Mexican goalkeeper had denied the Brazilian side severally. Neymar also assisted Firminho in the buildup to the second goal of the game which came less than ten minutes to the end of regular time.
Mexico however were unable to pull back any goal before the game ended.
Mexico has an unbroken jinx of never scoring a goal against Brazil in the World Cup. The last time the played against each other in the 2014 World Cup hosted by Brazil ended 0-0.
Meanwhile, Brazil is through to the quarterfinal and they’ll face the winner of the match between Belgium and Japan.
