Germany makes a record exit in the world cup
Germany crashed out of the Russia 2018 World Cup campaign after suffering defeat from South Korea in the last match of the group stage.
The outcome of the match left the Germans bewildered as it has never happened since 1938.
Joachim Low’s side were left at the bottom of the table after playing three games out of which they could only gather 3 points in Group F.
Many of the fans question the stance of the German manager who had left out Leroy Sane of Manchester City.
Sane had an exceptional campaign in the Premier League 2017/2018 season. He scored on various occasions and created several goal scoring chances which helped the Manchester side win the league.
South Korea scored twice in the second half to send the Germans out of the World Cup.
Among the masterful performances was that of goalkeeper Cho Hyun-woo, who made a fine one-handed save from Leon Goretzka’s header.
By the time the match ended, Sweden had won 3-0 against Mexico in their own last game. Mexico however finished second in the group behind Sweden who had 6 points from three games.
Mexico will face Brazil in the round of 16 match while Sweden will battle it out with Switzerland, who finished runner-up in Group E.
