Movie Desk is a film production finance tool operated by Movie Desk. We help production teams track expenses, manage remuneration, schedule shoots, and stay on top of their numbers.

• Account data: your name, email address, and phone number when you sign up or are invited to a workspace.
• Production and financial data you enter: expenses, budgets, schedules, shoot days, invoices, advances, and remuneration records.
• Contact data: names, PAN, GST, bank details, TAN, and other information you save about clients, vendors, artists, and crew members.

We are honest: you store sensitive financial and tax data in Movie Desk. We treat that responsibility seriously.

• To provide, run, and secure the Movie Desk service.
• To log you in and keep your sessions safe.
• To send account, invitation, and notification emails.
• To keep the app healthy, fix bugs, and back up your data.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.

We disclose information by category, not by brand. These processors handle data only to provide their service to us and are bound by their own terms and applicable data-protection obligations.

• Error monitoring: a third-party service that helps us detect and fix crashes. It is based in the European Union and may receive limited technical data — including your account id, email, and name — when an error occurs.
• Email delivery: a third-party service that receives your email address and name to send account and notification emails on our behalf.
• Cloud hosting: a third-party cloud hosting provider stores the application's data.
• Backups: a third-party storage provider holds encrypted backups of application data.

• Role-based access control: workspace members only see what their role allows.
• Row-level security: database rules enforce that users can only access data in workspaces they belong to.
• Encryption in transit: data moving between your browser and our servers is encrypted.
• Encrypted backups: backups are encrypted at rest.
• Restricted access: financial data, PAN, GST, and bank details are only visible to users with the right permissions.

No online service can guarantee 100% security. We work hard to protect your data and respond quickly to any issues.

• Financial and tax records are kept for the periods required by Indian law — typically around 6 to 8 years for GST and income-tax purposes.
• Account data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise personal data within 30 days, unless a legal requirement requires us to keep it longer.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (and the GDPR, where it applies to you), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• Request deletion of your personal data.
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

Our error-monitoring data is processed in the European Union. Email delivery may route data outside India. Where data leaves India, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as contractual protections — to keep it protected.

Movie Desk is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. You must be 18 or older to create or use a Movie Desk account. The app is built to be operated by adults

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. If a change is material, we will also notify you by email or through the app.
