Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 August 2026
Let's keep this simple.
Acceptance
By accessing or using Movie Desk, creating an account, or accepting an invitation to a workspace, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
These terms apply to all users — owners, admins, members, and guests — across every workspace and organisation.
What you're signing up for.
The service

We may update, add, or remove features over time. We will communicate material changes that affect how you use the service.
Lock the door behind you.

You may not use Movie Desk to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to breach security, probe for vulnerabilities, or access data belonging to another workspace or organisation without permission.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code or underlying ideas from the service.

We may suspend or terminate access for behaviour that violates these rules or puts the service or other users at risk.
Your records. Your ownership.
Your data, your ownership
The financial, production, and contact data you enter into Movie Desk belongs to you and your workspace. We process it only to operate the service for you.
You grant us a limited licence to host, back up, and process your data as necessary to provide Movie Desk. We do not claim ownership of your content.
For details on what we collect and how we handle it, see our Privacy Policy.
Fair pricing when it arrives.
Subscription & billing
Movie Desk may offer free and paid plans in the future. When paid plans are introduced, the pricing, billing cycle, and features will be presented clearly before you subscribe.
You are responsible for any taxes or duties applicable to your subscription, except where we are required by law to collect them.
We may change pricing for new subscriptions with reasonable notice. Existing paid subscriptions will continue on their current terms until renewal.
We aim for always-on. Plan for the unexpected.
Availability & backups
We work hard to keep Movie Desk available and secure, and we maintain encrypted backups of your data. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
Scheduled maintenance, force majeure, internet outages, or third-party failures may cause downtime. We will try to notify you in advance of planned maintenance.
Keep your own copies of critical financial and tax records. Movie Desk is not a substitute for your own backups or record keeping.
The serious stuff. Read this part.
Limitation of liability & disclaimer
Movie Desk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Movie Desk and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or data loss, arising out of or relating to your use of the service.
Movie Desk is a record-keeping and management tool. It does NOT provide tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the financial and tax data you enter, for reconciling that data with your own records, and for meeting your tax, legal, and regulatory obligations — including but not limited to GST, income tax, TDS, and labour-law filings in India.
Ending the relationship.
Termination
You may close your account or leave a workspace at any time by contacting your workspace owner or emailing us at contact@moviedesk.in.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, misuse the service, or if required by law. Workspace owners may also remove members from their workspace.
Upon termination, we will delete or anonymise your data in accordance with our retention practices and applicable law, except where we are required to keep records for legal or regulatory purposes.
The fine print.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Movie Desk shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
We’ll keep you posted.
Changes & contact
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the service or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Movie Desk after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
